It’s fall, y’all!

And yet, we’re still hearing about the impact Taylor Swift’s Eras tour had on our economy. As the Wall Street Journal summarized back in July, ”It’s Taylor Swift’s economy, and we’re all living in it.” It’s estimated that the Eras tour boosted the US economy by $4.6 billion.

What does this have to with checkout-free shopping from Zippin? The Eras Tour stopped at many sports venues with Zippin-powered concessions and drink stands. Swifties at these shows spent less time in line and more time enjoying the record-breaking show.

Let’s take GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for example. Kansas City, MO officials estimate the local economy experienced a boost of $80 million due to summer concerts. More than half of this growth ($47.8M) was due to the two nights Taylor Swift was in town.

Zippin Walk-Up was launched at the Kingdom Grill at Arrowhead Stadium during the Taylor Swift tour weekend. It turns out, Swifties are big fans of the chicken fingers. Kingdom Grill saw average shopping times of just 30 seconds, and a sales increase of 30% versus when the concession stand had a traditional setup.

What was Zippin’s contribution to this economic magic? For the 17 nights when Taylor Swift performed at venues and arenas with Zippin-powered stores, more than 42,500 fans shopped with Zippin. In total, they spent more than $835,900 checkout-free.

Zippin makes shopping easy and fast by eliminating the checkout so fans can get back in their seats faster. With ticket prices for summer concerts reaching all-time highs, the last thing fans want to do is be stuck in line during their favorite song. With Zippin, shoppers simply enter with a credit card or QR code, take what they want, and zip out. No waiting, no checkout, and no hassle. Just more time to enjoy the incredible show or all the action of a live game.

In case you haven’t heard, Taylor Swift has been regularly attending games at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. This means her impact on the Kansas City economy is not yet over. Local news stations have been tracking Taylor’s attendance, and SNL even did a skit portraying sportscasters as Swifties.

So, if you’re headed to Kansas City to catch a game - or in hopes of a Taylor Swift sighting - try checkout-free shopping by Zippin. The venue has one of the 71+ stores Zippin has launched across professional sports venues. Swifties hoping to see her on the road can shop checkout-free at one of the 34 sports stadiums with Zippin-powered concessions.

For Swifties looking for something to do this weekend, the Cheifs play the Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High - home of nine Zippin-powered Drink Markets. There you can also experience integrated digital identity verification.
